Founder of Paleo Play Canmore and co-founder of Nature's Tracks Forest Play, Corey Stevens has led nature focused programs for children for over 10 years. He specializes in play based experiences and facilitating bushcraft skills programs using as many natural materials as possible from our local environment to create meaningful relationships between children and the Earth.
Corey has a long interest in movement and is a certified and practicing Anma/Amatsu Movement Therapist , one of only a few in Canada. Movement plays big part in his nature philosophy and in his vision of getting kids to develop new fine and gross motor skills beyond those of playing video games, typing on a keyboard or walking on flat manmade surfaces. Corey continues to practice the martial art Budo Taijutsu which is the basis for his Amatsu healing work. He lives and plays in Canmore, Alberta with his wife Kari and his four year old son, Sam. I was once told..."if you remember what you liked to do when you were 8 years old, then that is probably what you want to do when you grow up." |
